I hate to say things that hinder people's
emotions. I really do. I'm more like the kid that enjoys to
joke about society's issues instead of worrying my head about
them. But, whenever an issue does come up, I do not simply
throw a sarcastic joke as my response. I stick up for what
I believe is wrong, and that's something which makes me unique
from some other people who just don't give a f**k either way.
What I'm trying to say in this pretty
bad rambling is that some things cannot be changed. One, I
believe, is that Nintendo will NEVER make a re-release of
their golden system. That doesn't mean it will totally
forget its past. Any idiot that browses through some Game
Boy Color games will know Nintendo has updated 100% complete
NES games into their newer current systems (which I believe
is a FANTASTIC way of keeping the NES alive). Granted, some
of the older feelings of our beloved gray box will be absent,
but I think it would be unfair to criticize Nintendo's attempts.
I have visited many, many NES sites
and I have seen quite a few "N64 NO!" banners. I
think this is unfair of those to make fun of what the big
N is working on to keep up with their competitors. Imagine,
for a second, if Nintendo said: "Screw the 64, we'll
just make new NES games for now on!" Now, how long do
you think the great gaming monopoly would be able to stay
afloat? Nintendo is trying to keep up with other competing
companies by producing the newest MX 3000 SUPER-POWER-EXCELLENT-W00T-W00T
technology. But, as I said before, they have also resurrected
many NES games to the GBC and there are many plans for other
games (Ninja Gaiden, SMB 3) to grace the Game Boy Advance
system in the future, at the same time. Nintendo has not forgotten
its ROOTS, it's simply focusing on the new school for the
almighty dollar.
That's not to say that the N64 should
be considered as highly as the NES, or to any other completely
successful system. That just wouldn't be true. It was NOT
a disaster, but at the same time was NOT a great success.
New entry Sony came out of no where to receive some of the
best games ever to be made. Nintendo had its share of good
games, but what Sony had was 3rd party support and Nintendo's
1st and 2nd party games were overshadowed.
So, in closing, expect to see plenty
of NES re-releases on other, newer systems. I HIGHLY doubt
that Nintendo will resurrect its first system but they will
see that their great NES era of games will not be lost anytime
soon.
