What do you think of NES World's message board?

-Lanny C.. no, too specific.. L. Cox.

Good question, L. Cox.

NES World has always been known as a semi-serious NES collectors haven in the "scene" (or "imagino-scene"). I say 'semi-serious' because of the likes of Superyoshi, adaml, and Stan bouncing off the white padded walls over there.

Some make fun of Martin's stricter admin way of doing things. Simply put: You piss Marty off, you go bye-bye. Say bye-bye, TRM! TRM say, "BYE-BYE!"

Getting back to my serious mode (Grr...), it's a neat board to wander around for questioning collectors, discussing eBay auctions, making fun of (big) Dan, and the usual general talk.

In short, it's the proverbial Denmark of the "imagino-scene".

Hello there! Here is a link to my site that I want you to put on your white pages on nesplayer.com! www.geocities.com/nesdedicated/index.html My site is called NES Dedicated and I have information about my personal collection and stuff. I am working on it all the time and I am doing my best to make a nice page! I really like yours too!! Have a nice day! / Andreas

I am putting this one in to remind the other gaming webmasters to e-mail me their links! I'd be more than happy to add NES-related links to this very site! Don't you just hate exclamation points?!!

yo! You guys have done a spectacular job with this site. Keep up the good work. I've gotten many of my fellow NES player friends to go here and they think the same. The NES truly is the greatest system ever. It's just as fun as any of the game systems of today. So keep up the good work guys. The reviews are awesome.

This is just too suspicious. I already have a subscription to the New York Times. But, thanks anyway.

Subject: Meeting with DI
Hi All Meeting today went well, sorted most of the streaming issues and will be able to stream files by Friday. Have discussed a phase 2 which will integrate with DI's DRM and encryption models but will use our timer for the payment model, should work well. I am meeting with Adam and DI's database people tomorrow to work out if we can cache the customer and all other d/bases, if we can it should speed up worldwide access to our sites, also discussed the uploading of our existing win media files so we can serve the video for all sites through DI, we can do this no problem. DI have managed to sort the problem of encoding our DV files, so I suggest we upload our world cup footage to them asap as they are better suited to be able to clean up the video. Let me know what you think. Will be in touch tomorrow best regards Chris

Haw, man. This is just too great. NEWSPLAYER.COM! Who would have known? The gang's all here! Barry, Paul, Sandy, Sevan, and even Chris.. that crazy Chris!

If I was meaner I "would have" replied asking for the domain password.

God knows...I tried.

Good to hear all is going well. It seems a good idea to ask DI to clean the PWC files as part of the mass encoding agreement we have. Look forward to hearing how you get on with Adam.

Best regards

Paul

Subject: u-force/headset
Dear Sir, I had two questions for you - the first is if you know where i can obtain a set of instructions for the U-Force. I have it but have little to no idea how to work it properly. The second is if you know anything about a headset gun for the NES. I have seen it advertised on old NES cases and a friend used to have one, but that is all I know. Apparently it was a headset that 'fired' when you spoke into a microphone of some sort. Any help you can offer would be appreciated. Thanks. K i s s e L

Oh please, you don't have to refer to me as sir. My friends call me "fucktard".

Anyway, to answer your questions:

I couldn't find any instructions online for the U-Force. Just a jumbled mess of curses. Here's a charming little article on the hardware- http://www.kthxbye.gd-kun.net/2002_01_01_archive.html

However, I CAN answer your second question. The headset accessory you're referring to is called 'Laser Force'. It was, like the U-Force and Powerglove, a cheaply made toy. The concept was, as you have pointed out already, one's speaking voice (heard by the microphone of the headset) would trigger a shot to fire onscreen. I stumbled across a picture and some more general information over at The Nintendo Repository. Scroll down to the bottom of this link.

Mcafee give you the special W32.Klez.E removal tools
W32.Klez.E is a special dangerous virus that spread through email.

For more information,please visit http://www.Mcafee.com

Hmm.. another Klez virus! And what's this, a cleverly attached Mega Man 3 .txt file? This 'JustinX' is quite the trickster. I would have never known.

i saw a PORTABLE SUPER MARIO BROS 3 game for gameboy color on ebay once???? has this game been pirated to the GBC???

Is this SMBFan? Aww.. don't be shy.

To my knowledge there is no (pirated) port of SMB3 for GBC. There are a good number of multi-carts out there, some probably with deceiving artwork.

Subject: Your website/my collection
Hi,

I just recently discovered your site and have enjoyed perusing it. I can't believe you had a review of the Polystation III. I own one and think it's so cool. I had not seen the built-in Pikachu game before :) I accidentally plugged in my NES power supply and fried it and had to get it replaced.

I'm a video game putz like yourself. My collection consists of the following stuff:

NES Action set in box (not in use)
Old-style SNES in box (not in use)
Dreamcast in box (not in use)
Top-load Famicom with box
2 fami Disk units (one with box, one not working)
About 100 Fami Disk games (most work)
Boxed Fami Disk cleaner
Sharp Twin Famicom (Black AN505 with turbo fire buttons)
15-pin zapper gun for use in the Twin Famicom side expansion port (works great, looks like a real six-shooter and clicks when you press the trigger)
Polystation III in box
Game Station Arcade in box (hand-held unit that has 15 Color Dreams games built in and plugs into the TV)
Boxed Aladdin Deck Enhancer with all the boxed games (yes, from Mike Etler at VGC)
Boxed SNES Super Scope 6
Beater SNES unit (for playing)
PAL/NTSC converter for SNES (works great, I have 1 PAL cart Parodius)
NES and SNES boxed Game Genies
SNES Lethal Enforcers game/gun (cool)
Extra Dreamcast (for playing)
Atari 5200 with box and multicart
Rare Masterplay interface (with extra fire button...lets you use 2600 sticks on a 5200)
2600 Cart adaptor for 5200
New boxed 5200 trackball
2 Atari 7800s with about 40 boxed carts (1 modified for use with PAL carts thanks to Geo Reese at Stella's Boneyard, it works with some and not with others)
6-switch Atari 2600
4-switch Atari 2600 Sears clone (getting refurbished and painted pink for my daughter by Junies Creations)
256 game Atari 2600 multicart (all 2K and 4K games)
About 20 boxed/unboxed 2600 carts (8K and 16K games not on the multicart)
Rare Starpath Supercharger with box (for use with Atari 2600)
Boxed rare Coleco KidVid Voice Module for the 2600
About 50 single-game NES carts (nothing spectacularly rare except maybe a boxed Arkanoid with Vaus controller)
About 70 boxed SNES/SFC carts
About 50 Dreamcast games
82-in-1 Famicom multicart
115-in-1 NES multicart
Boxed 260-in-1 Supervision NES multicart (I think this one is rare)
Beeshu Zapper NES arcade-style joystick (I think you have a pic on your site)
NES Advantage
NES 4 Score
2 SNES Advantage sticks
A Huge boxed SNES arcade-style joystick that is made from arcade-quality components (cool)
Various NES/SNES strategy books

I'm sure there's stuff I forgot, too. The wife HATES all the stuff I have although it is stored in an organized fashion. I recently lost an eBay auction for a Top Guy Fami portable. I got beat by 10 bucks because I couldn't monitor the end of the auction. Oh well.

Glad to see there are other freaks like me out there.

Steve

I am blushing on my end here... really. One hundred FDS games? Twin Famicom? You're making me bawl like crazy here.

It's nice to know the site is attracting other hardcore fans. If you think of it, take a picture of your collection and send it over. I would love to see it.

Thanks Steve!

Hi. I'm interested in buying your copy of Doki Doki Panic. Of course,
knowing it is a rare game, I will be willing to pay alot. Please respond
as soon as possible. Thank You!

Anything short of $400 is unacceptable!
No really, none of my collection is for sale.. unless I make note of it. Sorry, in this case: no. Mikey likey Doki Doki.

And that just about concludes another degrading version of mailbag. To the more sensitive viewing audience reading at home:
