You may not recognize Drac's Night Out as a common NES game. The Milton Bradley game is available to us only through a prototype of a likely unfinished product. It was never officially released on the NES.

The game begins normally enough like any other Dracula game (See: Castlevania) with the 'Big Man' hanging in his humble abode in Trannsylania; all except for one minor little detail--his castle is teeming with pissed-off villagers that would very much like to make tonight Drac's final "night out". I guess the best way to think of the beginning scenes inside of the castle is it's very much the same level-linear adventure as Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle. And then there's also an overhead RPG-town-like sequence in the nearby village later on in the game where Dracula must find his lovely Mina at.

You're probably saying outloud to yourself: "Honey child, nothing sounds at all weird about Drac's Night Out in that description. Where's the beef?"

Featuring the Reebok Pump

More shameful than Spot, MC Land, California Rasins, and Yo! Noid all wrapped up in one: a power-up in the game is the Reebok Pump, the popular early 90's sneaker that let you "pump up". (I had one in elementary school...too cool to be in school) Apparently when fetched, Drac can move faster.

I have to just step back and soak this all in. Give me some time.

The Reebok Pump. In the 15th century. Worn by Dracula.

I nominate this as the worst advertisement tie-in in all of video game history.
