He discovers an old factory, but when he offers a million dollars for the warehouse, the owner, Dr. David Brinkman, turns him down cold. It so happens that in that very warehouse, Westlake and Brinkman have teamed up to study synthetic skin -- skin that may mend Westlake's mutilated face. Westlake's experiments come to a violent end, however, when Durant -- angry at Brinkman's refusal -- proceeds to demolish their laboratory and brutally murder Brinkman.
