Hot Slot(s)
is the product of Hacker International and happens to be one of
the first "mainstream" pornographic titles for the NES.
Released and published by Panesian LTD. in 1991, Hot Slots pushed
the unlicensed field's limit by supplying copious amounts of 8-bit
skin. The premise of the game is simple: play a slot machine,
win, and see 1 of 3 screens of a woman undressing.
This adult
game is often looked at as the "lesser" of the stripper
trio among collectors. (Peek-A-Boo Poker required skill to win
and Bubble Bath Babes was a fun Tetris puzzle clone.) Not to me,
though, as I see Hot Slots as the premiere title from Panesian
LTD., and thus probably the most sought after.
Today thanks
to the wildfire of various video game site coverage that started
literally overnight, a small company like Panesian has become
a very familiar name to most NES hobbyists. All 3 porno games
are among the holy grails of NES finds, and when on eBay, easily
hit $230-300 depending on condition for cart-only or $400-500
in its rare, complete form.
Just recently
did I receive my copy. I traded my complete Aladdin Deck Enhancer
(spare), a handful of NES games, and some spare cash to complete
my collecting dream of owning a nudie Nintendo game!

The cart's
label, Hot Slots, is actually different than the game's real name:
Hot Slot (perhaps a play-on-words for 'Hot Slut').
GAME PLAY
The
title screen hints at what you've already come to expect. Naked
ladies!
Pressing
'Start' will bring you to the slot machine selection screen. 'Select'
will allow you to choose and 'Start' to confirm. (My personal
favorite is Las Vegas.)
You begin
with a total budget of $400. You have to exchange this money in
$50 amounts for medallions to use in the slot machine. I suggest
only getting $50 medallions once you know what you're doing.
Now for the
fun, grueling part...
Playing
the slots!
Keep
your pants on, big guy, you'll have to work awfully hard for the
women. The money rolls in by getting 777, three BARS, or color-coded
JACS. Roughly $15 from each.
However,
the real ching-chang is made when you get "hot" and
the screen jumps to the top portion of the slot machine and flashes
JACKPOT. The music will shift to a more uppity beat (listen to
a .wma sample) and Jackpot Round will begin. During this round,
JACS are MUCH easier to come by (almost a 90% chance)! You should
be able to get well over $100 after one of these rounds.
STRATEGY
HINT
When
you're feeling lonely, depressed, or just fed up with the little
money you're making.. in the game.. try this homemade strategy:
Put in 2
medallions, and when the slots begin spinning take a second
and then swirl your thumb around the D pad on your controller
(Left stopping the first slot, Up the second, and Right the
third). Honest to God, this has worked for me and gotten me
"on fire" a few times. I mean, it's just so crazy
it's gotta work!
