Monster Party

A monster PARTY? The title may be a tad misleading, and the same can be said about the rest of the game, too. The story has it that you are Mark, walking innocently to home from playing baseball, when all of a sudden a gargoyle by the name of Bert appears out of nowhere and informs you that you are the only one that can help prevent destruction of his world. One obvious question arises during all of these cut-scenes: wouldn't a Mistah T-lookalike have been a better choice than some scrawny kid...? The questions and confusion just builds up from that point further.

MP is a very above-average game, no matter what anyone else wants you to think otherwise. Although it appears on the surface as just another simple side-scrolling adventure, MP's bag of tricks involve plenty of twists and weird turns that make finishing the game's 8 levels fun instead of a chore. ( A fine example of this is the amazing and sudden environment change effect mid-way into the first level.) MP deserves to be in the top three just for remaining "bloody" fresh and fun.
