NES Top
Loader
In 1993, around
the system's dying days, Nintendo set off on a marketing plan
to re-release a newer, top loading version of the NES. Across
seas in Japan, the A/V Famicom - top loading version of the Famicom
- had already been out in stores. The domestic console sported
a smaller and sleeker design and new controller.
Currently
in the collecting scene of today, the top loader is one of the
most sought after finds. The control deck's "no blinking
guarantee" top load insertation, comfortable controller,
and very cool design adds fury to the fire in the eyes of its
hunters. A must-have.

Control
Pad

I
think the sexy picture above says it all. The reconditioned, groovy
pad helps make it fit like a glove. No more buttonitis from uncomfortable
controls! Its new feel is smaller than the original, but provides
an appealing, heavenly touch none comparable from any other accessory
on the system.
Much
like the SNES pad, the shape rounds about your hands and makes
the tighter grip something really to enjoy. Truly a great step
up from the past.
Comments

I
really am at a lose for words here. There is not much else to
say. I love the top loader and got my money's worth. It is much
more reliable, easier to store, and comes attached with superior
controls. I almost feel guilty unpluging my precious original
gem from the television.
Which
brings it all down to whether you wish to take function over nostaliga.
I will leave that for you to decide on your own.
