4. Karate Champ

This game is the perfect example of a good arcade game being ruined when it's ported. Karate Champ is an arcade classic that even despite how old it is, it's still fun to play. The Nes version is an entirely different story. It has the same basis as the arcade version, but controlling your character in the Nes version is very awkward. The game starts with an instructor, who likes like someone from the 80's and has no elbows, yelling, "be-gin." Then you have to try and defeat the guy in the red robe by using kicks and punches. When you finally beat him, your guy does this standing pelvic thrust, and you have to avoid these vases that fly from the side of the screen. Then you go on to the next screen. The fighting arenas range from a dark alley to some shadowy treetops. Does that sound exciting or what? Karate Champ fact: There's a cheap strategy you can use to defeat the enemy every time. All you have to do is walk to the center when the match starts and punch at the right time. If you do it right, you can win every single match. Now that's what I call some quality programming.
