I once heard of unlicensed rare games out
there that made use of the Zapper. I know of games like Chiller
and Baby Boomer but I never heard of this one before.
Behold... 3 in 1 Super Gun! A game made by unlicensed
company TXC which contains three Zapper games in one, which
are totally fun! I should stop with the rhyming now...
Storyline: 0/5
There's no storyline here. That is unless a snake charmer,
rookie cop, and clown need help shooting stuff... but no.
Graphics: 3/5
Some half decent stuff here. I was impressed. I mean, seeing
this is an unlicensed multi-cart, the graphics could've been
worse. In fact, each game on the cart appears to have slightly
different graphics. The snake game has cartoonish-looking
snakes pop out of jars while the cop game shows a nice "break-effect"
when you shoot the cut-out villains/innocent people. The glass
bottles the clown throws in "Clowr" also show a
nice effect when hit. The characters themselves like the snake
charmer and clown have a novice-look to them and don't look
the greatest... but they get the job done.
Sound: 2/5
The sound is a bit weak but enjoyable in a 'unlicensed-type'
way. Each game has its own unique theme; Clowr has a circus-fun
theme while Snake Charmer has Arabian music. Music wasn't
the greatest to come out of the NES but gets the job done
none the less. Same can be said about the sound effects. The
scuffing the Snake Charmer makes and what little else is in
the game. The firing sound that is made when you click the
Zapper is good.... that's about it though.

Gameplay: 4.5/5
Basically, the cart itself contains three Zapper games. "Clowr",
which is a misspelling of "Clown", has you shoot
the glass bottles that a clown tosses into the air. The second
game, "Snake Charmer", has you shoot snakes from
pots which are summoned by the snake charmer himself. You
cannot soot the red snakes or you'll lose, you shoot the blue
snakes only. "Shooter" is a rip-off of Hogan's
Alley where you shoot the cardboard cut-outs of criminals
and avoid shooting innocents. There are also three modes of
difficulty; low, medium, and high.
Control: 5/5
When a game uses the Zapper, with the exception of Chiller,
it's usually dead on. You need to press start on controller
1 though to start the game, select, or d-pad to chose one
of the games. Once there, you need to shoot your range of
difficulty which was a nice touch other than just pressing
start on them.
Fun Factor: 5/5
Mostly any Zapper game would be great enough to get 5/5...
maybe except Laser Invasion and Chiller and
maybe some others. 3 in 1 Super Gun, however, is tons-o-fun
for various reasons. Reasons include: it's rare, unlicensed,
three unique games in one (maybe except Shooter but at least
it isn't Hogan's Alley), etc. I just wish there were
more games...
Frustration: 1/5
Not much to get pissed over is this game. For an unlicensed
multi-cart, it has precise hit detection from the zapper and
displays nice effects to objects when they're hit. Sound could've
been better but who cares? The only thing I wished for was
if there were more games on there... I mean, 5 in 1 or even
10 in 1 would've kicked ass! I guess you can't expect too
much from an unlicensed and unknown company such as TXC.
Overall: 4/5
A great game which maybe impossible to find nowadays, it's
something that a lot of NES FANZ out there don't even know
about. In fact, as I said before, I just found out about it!
Somebody gave me a scan of the Famicom cart for this game
and I had to wonder if it was really for it or not. I mean,
there's a picture of the gray Zapper along with three screen
shots; one of Duck Hunt, Hogan's Alley, and
Wild Gunman. Regardless, keep on the look-out for this
mysterious multi-cart Zapper game because its a keeper!
