Supervision Entertainment Game Cartridge

Origin: Taiwan
# of Games: 63
Type: NES Game Cart

Looks

Supervision is a fairly big name in NES piracy, leading with its landmark of bad art labeling. This label looks like it could have been drawn in between a high school class with colored pencils. But it's nice, nonetheless, and one of many hand drawn pirate covers.

The game obviously looks pirate-worthy, since its a little less easily noticeable of the lighter gray used to cover the cart's shell, the matching wrap around labeling, and the general shape of the cart (unlike other unlicensed games like Wisdom Tree and Tengen.)

Speaking of looks, right above the Supervision logo is their company moto: Your Family will enjoy playing home video entertainment like never before! It's quite funny that they mention wholesome family entertainment, being that it is an illegal product and all, and the "like never before" because it's um...a PIRATE.

Another minor thing to mention, by turning the cart on its top side, you see that Supervision decided not to include a title or anything on the remaining gray label.

General Info

(Level Index of 10 or 11 lists of games)

The game's index includes a bit of organization with its use of 'levels' that correspond to a list of either 10 or 11 different games.

I'm actually very impressed with Supervision's pirate. Unlike other pirates, games are not listed repeatedly and the games chosen were some of the best.

A few famous ones to mention are: Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong JR., Super Mario Bros., Excite Bike, Joust, Tennis, Mario Bros., Urban Champion, 1942, Wild Gunman, Duck Hunt, Golf, Hogan's Alley, and Ice Climber to name most.

Note-Worthy Games

I'm more than satisfied with the games picked for the cart. Not only did Supervision include a good amount of NES games they mixed in superb Fami titles also. Below are general info of the better and less noticeable games.

Devil World- This is a very challenging but fun semi-puzzle game. You are some kind of animal armed with only a holy cross to escape from the devil's attempts to destroy you by constantly having the screen in motion. Hmm..wonder why this Japanese game was never released to the U.S.?

KeyKong- A.k.a Donkey Kong, it's the same arcade game just with a new title. Still it's fun to hear the festive music and dodge and jump barrels to save Pauline.

Antartic Adventure- A very neat game, you play as a penguin that travels via 3-D trying to avoid holes in the ice, enemies, and other obstacles to finish off the game. If you've ever played the Dreamcast's Pen Pen Tri-Icelon (I pity you) this is it.. without all the unnecessary cuteness.
