PasswordsThis is the game that started it all. The first game in the Mega Man series. You are the blue bomber and must fight your way through a series of evil bosses climaxing at Dr. Wily's castle facing the man himself. Gain the weapons of your enemies as you defeat them and use your acquired skills against Dr. Wily's enemies.
Plot: Pick a boss, any boss! This is the regular theme of the Mega Man series. You are taken to the stage select screen where you must choose your fate. There is a logical order to beat the bosses where the first boss is taken down with the cannon, the 2nd boss is taken down with the 1st bosses weapon, etc.
Sound: I've always liked the Mega Man series for its music and this game lives up to my expectations. If you ever feel like throwing a Nintendo party, try Mega Man music. You can shake your booty and throw up the disco ball.
Graphics: If you've seen one Mega Man game, you've probably seen them all. The exception is in this series. The graphics are different than the others. They look smaller and unfamiliar, something that confused me initally since I've played the other games in the series before this one.
Challenge: Beating the game in my elder years doesn't help for the challenge rating here. It took me a mere 2 hours (and that is BAD) to beat this game. The bosses are way too easy to beat and the only challenge lies in beating 3 bosses you've faced previously (bomb, fire, ice) in the later stage of Wily's castle.
Gameplay: The gameplay is great as I've always remembered it. You have good control over your player when you need it most (jumping over large gaps and midair). What I discovered it that in Wily's level when you are on the green enemies that take you over the spiked area, it is not a good idea to walk off one and into the next because you'll fall straight down as if you were on Jupiter.
......BOTTOM LINE: It's Mega Man! How are you supposed to hate it unless you watched Captain N and then were annoyed by that robot adding "mega" to every word he says. The music, graphics, gameplay, and more make this one game to give to the novice gamer. I recommend this to the experienced gameplayer to see how fast he/she can beat it or how many points he/she can accumulate.
