In 1990, Family Home Entertainment released TMNT: The Movie to theathers nationwide. The movie featured real-live actors, instead of cartoons, featuring Jim Henson's genious use of very realistic turtles. The outcome was a no doubt success, and produced millions of dollars to prove it. Along with the first entry onto the big screen, was brand new music of MC Hammer that released its theme song.

Then, one year later, TMNT 2 was released and obtained equal, if not, more of movie goers money. This time FHE, that were featured attributed to the VHS cartoons and the first movie, was not to be found- instead big name RCA New Line Cinema got in on the action. And, to follow another good movie soundtrack, Vanilla Ice's "Ninja Rap" became the second show's main song.

The thrid, and final, movie was brought to us by New Line Home Video, again, as a straight to video tape release in 1992. The decision to bring it right into video stores was due most definitely to the lacking of the great TMNT era. As all things must come to and end, so did TMNT. Or did it?

On July 20th (2001) in Beverly Hills, Mirage Studios announced that they would be making a new TMNT movie in all CGI computer graphic form. The original creator is working on the script along with the head of animation while I write this. He says he's focusing on a more darker, deeper film, similar to the Ninja Turtles comics that had a different style compared to the cartoon and the three movies. Check out the offical movie release for some sample turtle CGI pictures and more info.
